Well I’m pleased to say my family are back from their holiday in Turkey! They all look relaxed and are nearly the same colour as my tanned bits (only nearly). Even though I missed them all LOADS, I did however have a fun week with my Auntie Shelley and my bestest pal, Harvey.
And one of the best things about Auntie Shelley looking after us, is the fact that my favourite little cousin is there to play with me!
I also took the opportunity to recharge my batteries whilst on my break like Mum & Dad, especially after my recent surgery. I chilled out in front of the TV and caught up on my favourite soaps…
I took a late night, moonlit stroll where I came across this strange, spikey little dude…
Apparently soup is really good for ‘healing’ so Harvey and I turned our best puppy dog faces onto Auntie Shelley to see if we could get her to share, I reckon a Bonio would have tasted good dipped in it…
When Sunday came around Auntie Shelley decided it would be nice to go for a stroll in the park, it had been raining quite a lot so it was finally time to get out in the sunshine.
The ducks were teasing us and wouldn’t come close enough for us to give them a sniff (and perhaps a little lick) and the water was too cold to wade out to them.
And back to little spikey things, Harvey and I found some more but they didn’t move this time. Auntie Shelley said they were conkers and told me to spell out my name with them and be artistic, I think I did pretty well…
Half way round it was time for a refreshment stop…
And even our puppy dog eyes didn’t work on my cousin, he wasn’t sharing…
Before we knew it Mum, Dad, Nanny & Grandad were back and it was time to go home. I was a very helpful sausage and helped Mum with the unpacking…
Well that’s what I told Mum anyway, what I was really doing was checking out what she’d bought back for me and the funky smells coming from the suitcases…
However what I did discover was the fact that I fit perfectly in the suitcase so next time, I can go with them, everyone knows us dachshunds love a bit of sun!
After HOURS of unpacking Mum revealed what she bought back and I have to say, it was pretty disappointing. A round red thing that she said was a pomegranate as Turkey is known for them as they grow there. I thought wow, what a cool new ball however Mum said it was ‘ornamental’ which actually means ‘boring’. As you can see from my face, I wasn’t too impressed.
After the disappointment of the rubbish ball I heard the phrase ‘new bowl’, now this was more like it. However, it was pretty small so not sure if Mum’s putting me on a diet or not?
Well Mum has promised me a long walk and a nice dinner this weekend, I’m thinking steak but I think she’s more on the chicken wavelength, oh well.
Dach’s all for now – off to plan our next holiday TOGETHER…
