Top (sausage) Dog

I have some very exciting news!

I attended training class as normal last night and before we got started, our teacher wanted to announce something. Class was off last week in favour of the Annual General Meeting, Mum didn’t attend as she didn’t want to leave me on my lonesome (she’s good like that) however I’m a big boy and would have been fine. It appears that at the AGM they give out awards each year and because not all our owners parents were able to attend, we missed a couple of awards being presented. She went on to say that they like to award dogs that have shown good progress, superb ability and eagerness blah blah blah – to be honest I was tuning out as I was so excited to start training but then she said MY name!!

She said that I, little ol’ me, had won the BEST PUPPY OF THE YEAR award! Can you believe it? Well I can as I have been pretty good, especially at agility. Mum got all teary (so embarrassing) and went up to accept my our award – it was a joint effort after all.

So here I am modelling my award, just call me medallion man…

Dachshund Award

And we had to re-create the award acceptance so Dad could see it for himself.

Dachshund Paw Trick

I would just to say thank you to my family – Nanny, Grandad and Auntie Shelley for all their support the last few months, especially to Nanny and Auntie Shelley for taking me to class when Mum was unable to.

To Dad for all my fitness training, especially showing me how to bench press safely and to build up my ‘guns’.

And to my Mum – I wouldn’t be accepting this award if it wasn’t for her hard work and dedication to taking me to class every Monday right from the start and also the extra curricular work at home. Thanks Mum, for putting up with my strops when I got it wrong, for calming me down when I got overexcited and most of all, for cooking my favourite party sausages as my special training treats.

THANK YOU!

Dach’s all for now – off to polish my medal…

Jeffrey x

Where do you do your training Jeffrey? I’m a three month old wire haired dachshund from London and I’d love to get involved!

I do my training at my local dog club, have a look and see if there are any local clubs to you, I’m sure they would love to have you!
