What a fun day we’ve had! We met up with our local sausage dog walking group for a catch up, stroll along the river and a pub lunch!
The H’s came too! Well, they are honorary dachshunds after all!
Alan was part of the welcoming committee and this little chocolate pup seemed very taken by him…
And we’re off! We were very lucky with the weather, a sunny, crisp day, Spring is definitely in the air!
Even some of our older members turned out for the meet up, which is always nice!
One happy Alan racing around!
Our buddy Otto was trying to convince Alan that the river was a good idea, he wasn’t so sure…
It wasn’t long before we reached our halfway destination, The Bounty pub! Only accessible by boat & foot or in our case, by paw…
We chose our table…
And got down to the serious business of deciding what we’d like for lunch, we all know my favourite kind of lunch is a pub lunch and The Bounty is not only extremely dog friendly but they have a menu just for us pooches! Perfect!
Whilst we waited for our food to arrive, I checked in with my buddy Otto, or as I like to call him, Mr Foxy! We chatted about how he was getting on with the new addition to his family, hubaby James., He said it’s pretty good and I shouldn’t worry too much if my Mum & Dad decide to add to our family, we’ll see about that…
I was getting pretty hungry after our walk so I tapped Nanny up to see what she had to offer…
But The H’s and Rodney also cottoned onto my plan…
Whilst Alan was more interested in Nanny cuddles!
I was so happy when our food arrived, it smelt SO good! Mum, Dad, Nanny & Grandad all opted for sandwiches whereas I ordered for the family dogs and chose the ‘burgers & sausages for dogs’, I think ours was the better option…
Our friends Billy, Daisy & Dottie chilled out with a drink & chips and sat back and watched the pub world go by…
After lunch was finished and we’d licked all the plates clean, it was time to head off again…
But my pal Archie & I had a little rest & a catch up halfway back to the car, a pub lunch is tiring work for us sausages…
And the obligatory group line up, this is only half of the turn out! We had such a lovely morning, hope to see you all again soon!
Dach’s all for now – off to chase the cats, well I do need to burn my lunch off!
