When Alison from Wellybix contacted me asking me whether I would like to taste test some of her biscuits I was like, ‘is the Pope Catholic?’ I have a lot of hobbies that I love, chasing squirrels, sleeping and my favourite pastime – eating! So I knew this was the perfect test for me!

So a little bit about Wellybix from Alison & her dog Welly:

Wellybix are healthy dog treats hand-made with LOVE in picturesque Teesdale (North East England) They are full of natural, wholesome goodness and packed with my own garden herbs. Unlike most commercial dog treats, all the ingredients are of human grade quality and have been tested and approved by WELLY, the Jack Russell!

They have NO artifical preservatives, colours, artificial flavour enhancers, added sugar or salt and are analytically tested and approved by a veterinary laboratory.

How good do they sound? And if they are approved by Welly the Jack Russell himself, I just knew I was bound to love them!

We were sent 3 flavours to taste test – peanut butter, lamb with rosemary & chocolate with carob, all biscuits are made in a bone shape. On first impressions we loved the packaging, clean white bags with a resealable top that has a handy wire that you can fold down to re-seal the bag so that it keeps your treats nice and fresh. Each pack has its own coloured label and the Wellybix logo plus the biscuit flavour clearly labelled.

These treats smelt amazing, even through the packaging! So good in fact that when Mum shouted ‘look, squirrel!’ I didn’t run! I may have had a glance though, just to check…

First up was the Peanut Butter with Spelt flavoured biscuits, which Alan seemed to be very drawn to! These are wheat free biscuits, perfect for any pooches on a wheat free diet.

Next up was the Chocolate flavour with Carob & Oats perfect for those dogs with a sweet tooth, like me! Mum also liked the smell of these and I’m not going to lie, she may have had a nibble too, well I do like to share!

Finally we went in for the kill with the Lamb with Fresh Rosemary and these were SO good! It was like having a Sunday roast dinner in one biscuit, perfect!

And we were such good boys, practising our ‘waits’ when there was a biscuit right in front of us!!! We deserved it after that!

On the back of each label is very clearly typed the ingredients for that flavour and the expiry date, also very handy to know, however, I doubt ours will still be around by then!

From further research, we have found out that not only do Wellybix make these extremely tasty biscuits but they also sell Bake-a-Bone kits so you can bake your pooch their very own yummy treats at home! Wellybix also do lovely gift cards, bath time goodies & doggy themed blankets – something for everyone!
