When we received the latest instalment of Magical Mabel’s Adventures book, we knew we had to save it for when we could sit down. chill out and take it all in.
You may have seen that we reviewed the first two books The Adventures Of Magical Mabel and Magical Mabel’s Adventures In The Tower Of London written by the lovely Wendy Clark. The books are based on Mabel, a long haired dachshund, and her buddy Alfie. The author says:
These are the stories of a miniature sausage dog named Mabel who enters the world totally unaware of her magical powers. Her encounters with Alfie who becomes her best friend leads her into many exciting adventures.
Inspirational and exciting, these individual stories prepare children for some of life’s lessons which will help them cope with their futures. These two lovable rogues are based on the author’s real life dachshunds
Colourfully illustrated and bought to life by Emma – Jo Newton who specialises in many forms of artwork, including pet portraits, theatre sets and creative workshops.
So there was only one thing for it, we grabbed a seat on the sofa, got cosy and took a look at what Mabel and Alfie got up to this time…
It was Mabel’s birthday and she had received lots of lovely presents and cards, and there was special card from us, Jeffrey & Alan!
Mabel received a particularly special present from her Guardian Angel Clarence, a book that had pictures of kings & queens that lived hundreds of years ago. The book was able to take her to all those amazing places but she had to remember she was on a mission to help people.
It wasn’t long before Mabel & Alfie find themselves travelling back in time and visiting Hampton Court, the home of King Henry the Eighth, and doing their bit to help a certain special someone. I can’t give anymore away, you’ll just have to read the story for yourself!
But more importantly, we feature again later in the book, celebrating Mabel’s birthday by throwing a party, which is what we do best!
I just had to make sure Alan could see his bush baby face featured in the book!
Alan & I were so flattered seeing ourselves on the pages of the new book we had to do a few laps around the living room, chase the cats and have a wrestle amongst ourselves!
All this reading and excitement is just so tiring..
We thoroughly enjoyed reading this latest instalment of Mabel’s Magical Adventures and we would recommend this to any child from a sausage dog household or adult that wants to feel like a child again!
You can get Wendy’s new book HERE and she is also now selling some really fab dachshund products HERE – be sure to check it out!
Dach’s all for now – off to read Alan a bedtime story…
