Yesterday Alan & I hosted a Help for Heroes BBQ with our pal Lenny. His Mum & Dad organised the fundraiser at our house – we’re always happy to oblige when a party is involved!

We strung up some festive bunting…

And made sure we dressed the part! Lenny’s Mum bought us matching Help for Heroes collars, how smart do we look?! If you fancy one for your own pooch, you can buy one HERE

However it seems some of us were ‘testing’ out the BBQ before our guests had even arrived!!

One of the first to arrive was a VIP – Very Important Pooch – our pal Archie! And of course he was looking like a Dapper Dachshund in his BBQ-appropriate bandana…

I took a turn on BBQ duty, flipping burgers and turning sausages (of the meat variety) and of course NEVER tasting any of the food, obviously….

Then it was my turn to be bar-dog, anyone for Pimms or cloudy lemonade?

But it was soon time to take a break from being good hosts and cool down as it was a warm day, so we each had a pupsicle that Mum made – yoghurt & peanut butter, my favourite!

As soon as we were finished it was back to host duties, making sure everyone had something to eat or drink!

Archie was on clean up duty once everyone had finished pudding, summery strawberries & cream…

I made sure everyone had had enough… not begging for any, honestly…

I was feeling a little underdressed as more people arrived…

So I threw on a little something out of my wardrobe – you can’t say I’m not prepared for all occasions…

Towards the end of the day the raffle was drawn, I was hoping we’d win the extra large marrow that had been entered, I do like a stuffed marrow…

But some of us were a tad sleepy to keep an eye on our numbers…

So I had to drag in re-enforcements to keep an eye out…

We had an amazing day, Lenny’s Mum did an awesome job of organising everything! And a big thank you to everyone that came, we raised so much money, all for a great cause!
