Fridays Furry Friend

This week we wrote our review on Lily And The Octopus that we have been reading, what a lovely witty read that all dachshund owners, or any dog owners for that matter, can relate to. If you missed our review you can catch up HERE

Other than that, it’s been the usual snoozing, squirrel patrol and begging asking nicely for treats! This weekend we are hoping for good weather as we are hosting a Help for Heroes BBQ with our sausage pal Lenny, I’m sure we’ll update you on our antics!

This weeks Fridays Furry Friend has a very posh name, a dachshund-mix called Belvedere! His parents went a long way to collect Belvedere when he was looking for a new home that was perfect for him! Does any one else fancy grabbing a lift with this dude? I just love his goggles! Or should that be doggles?

Hi, My name is Belvedere. I would love to be your Friday Furry Friend. I came from a rescue. I was found running the streets of Tulsa Oklahoma. My dad has wanted a wire haired dachshund for a long time. He’s had smooth and long haired but never a wire. My mom seen my picture on Pet Finder. It said I was a wire haired dachshund.  Mom showed dad my picture and took a five hour road trip to pick me up. I couldn’t hide my long legs any longer. My awesome Dr thinks I’m a dachshund australian terrier mix. Mom says I’m an impostor wire haired dachshund. But being an impostor got me a home and I love it here. I’m an awesome boy, I get along with all the other dogs in the house. There’s a long haired furry dachshund, he can be kinda crabby sometimes but I just go on about my business. Then there are two big basset hounds, boy are they loud. Well enough about me, come on new friend let’s go for a ride.

Dach’s all for now – off to BBQ some sausages (of the food variety)…

What a fantastic name! Belvedere looks like he knows where he’s going. My big brother Dill used to have doggles to protect his eyes after eye surgery before he went blind. He wasn’t keen on them but Belvedere looks really impressive in his. I imagine he’s off to the airport to take his biplane up for a spin and a few loop the loops.
Hope your bbq is successful in every sense. Go easy on the sausages.
    Take care.
    Regards,
    Finn

Shouldn’t say this being a Dachshund but me and Ned kinda like those legs of yours Belvedere. Ned won’t admit it but I saw him looking impressed. But I’m the black and tan one so I can speak to you on a level. Or a bit below your level really. Bet they are handy for getting a bit closer to the wonderful land of table top. I only see that afar from a chair. Here’s to you lad.
