It’s my first Valentine’s and I have to say, when Mum explained it to me I got a little excited about being able to share something nice with the girl that I have been admiring from afar. She has been an avid reader of my blogs and we have regularly been exchanging emails and photos (not X rated!!).
So I went to the shops and got a card that I could write a nice message in, it took me a little while to come up with something as I wanted to do it all by myself (Mum had to actually do the writing as I’m a bit clumsy with my paws).
I even decided that I would share some of my favourite chicken strips with her so I tied a ribbon round them (red, of course) and put them in with the card.
Mum then decided it would be a good idea to show what I can offer her, apart from my good looks, big paws and long body. To qualify as good boyfriend material I would have to show her my romantic side and the fact that I can share food (not all dogs can).
And to make sure it was all wrapped up and secure I sealed it the dachshund way – with a big muddy paw!
I was very anxious that she wouldn’t appreciate my advances, you have probably guessed who my secret sausage love is – it’s the lovely Lottie of course! She received my package and seemed suitably impressed as she got all dressed up in her diamonds and sent me an email with some photos, she even said she was pleased to have such a houndsome admirer!
Isn’t she gorgeous? And it looks like my efforts were worth it! (even if I did get a muddy paw)
The chicken strips went down well, thank god she didn’t eat the bow, I don’t want to responsible for sparkly poo!
And then our post arrived today, or should that be my post?
The Lovely Lottie had sent me a little Valentines packet! So I KNEW my doggy love for her was reciprocated!
A paw-made card which was a self-portrait of Lottie (Mum said that Lottie’s Mum made it but I know better) and some yummy rabbit ears and fishy bites (best not to lick a lady after eating those).
How lovely is that?
Even Mum and Dad were getting into this Valentine’s lark – Dad got Mum a card which was modelled on me and cooked her a yummy dinner
And Mum got a tad carried away in Sainsbury’s and bought the WHOLE of their dachshund Valentine’s range – typical Mum!
So did any of you have any secret sausage admirers out there?
Dach’s all for now – off to nibble on a rabbits ear…
