Today I took part in a Sausage Dog Agility Competition. There were quite a few of us and I was pretty excited to see some of my sausage pals. We had a quick practice run and then it was down to some serious competing. We all did one round of jumps and then one round of agility, there was puppy, beginners and the advanced class that I was in.
Here’s my fellow little wirey dude, Marcel, starting out on his jumping course.
Lots of flying sausages…
Here’s my gal-pal Miley from previous Sausage Dog Agility sessions doing her round…
And the long hairs taking their turn…
And another fellow wire, Dennis, starting off his agility round…
Here’s the whole group…
I have to admit the jumping course was slightly complicated and Mum and I lost our way a bit however I got to the end and was awarded ‘reserve’ (5th) which was good! Check out this video of me doing the jumping round:
However my agility round was much better and I really enjoyed it a lot more! I went round pretty quickly with barely a fault, so good in fact that I came first in the advance group! Watch this video to see my almost faultless course:
All the winners were awarded pretty rosettes and some lovely prizes.
The puppy class winners, my buddy Marcel came second in the jumping round.
However he did come first in the puppy agility round, well done Marcel!
Here’s me and Mum collecting our rosette for the jumping round…
And here we are in first place with a lovely red ‘first’ rosette and a massive bag of food as my prize for the agility round with our fabulous trainer Yulia.
And a surprise category – best of coat! Here’s the best wire, smooth and long hair – I won best wire!
I also got to catch up with a few of my pals in between competing, here’s me and Marcel, he’s like a mini-me!
Here we are sporting a rather grand rosette collection between us…
And here’s the whole wirey gang from today!
Here’s some professional photos from Yuila & Sergey who run the competition from Four Little Paws – massive thank you to them for organising such a great event! They are fantastic photographers and if you fancy a professional photo shoot of your pooch, then using Four Little Paws is a must!
They have captured some great action shots of me…
Once I was home Mum made me pose with all my prizes as she was so proud of me and of course, my Nanny wanted to see them!
Dach’s all for now – off to add these to my prize collection!

That’s a lot of flying wieners. Agility always looks like such fun. We have messed around with some equipment at times and my little Gretel seems like a natural.
