Mum had a day out yesterday, WITHOUT me!! She went to Crufts, on Hound day (of course) or should that be Hund?
The ‘show’ pooches get to be trollied around, I must get onto my manager about that.
I can only aspire to helping out with Discover Dogs one day, I think they would like a mini celebrity like me and I would be more than happy to be stroked and cuddled all day.
She cheated on me by watching other sausage dogs, she tried to take some photos of the mini wires however they were far away and being small looked like a dot in the distance. I think she was just being kind and didn’t want me to get jealous of the show dogs however she did reassure me that I am MUCH more handsome than they are!
Then she watched the Standard Wirehaired’s being judged as we had some friends who were competing so Mum and Nanny wanted to cheer them on. However, Nanny had an ulterior motive of convincing Grandad that they ‘need’ a Standard Wire Dachshund. Nanny loves me so much (who doesn’t?) but feels a slightly bigger size might be better.
Even show dogs have to re-set their ears the right way…
Just having a sit down, all this showing off must be tiring!
And waiting patiently in the wings…
The lovely Cadbury who is owned by our friends, I hope I get to be as handsome as him.
Mum also saw lots of other hounds, one which was near the dachshunds was the bloodhound, looks like it needs a facelift in my opinion.
When Mum got home she smelt of other dogs (the cheat) however the gifts she had bought me almost made up for it (almost)
A smart new bandana with sausage dogs on, obviously.
Some nice Lily’s Kitchen food which I like.
After trying dried hare ears that my not-so Secret Sausage Valentine Lovely Lottie sent me, I kept bugging Mum to get me some more. She found some!
And of course some new toys! A nice squeaky one that I can annoy Dad with, perfect!
Our wire dachshund friends had recommended that Mum get a Coat King to sort my wirey-ness out. Mum couldn’t wait to try it on me, check out all that fluff that came out of me – I feel like a new man already!
My loot…
Nanny bought home a weird long sausage (pun intended) shaped thing that was all soft and fluffy. However, Nanny said I wasn’t to unwrap it as it was for other dogs, I was surprised by this for two reasons.
1. Nearly all the dog things Nanny buys are for me
2. Who wouldn’t want a bit of the Jeffrey fluff and scent on their bed?
Testing the spring…
And the length…
So all in all it was a good day (for Mum) and I am coming to terms with the fact she has been ‘flirting’ with other dachshunds. I can only wish to win some rosettes of my own one day…
Dach’s all for now – off to huff at Mum
