A Slushy Puppy

Well we’ve had a whole lotta snow today! Monday’s sprinkle was to break me in really. I had gotten used to the wet but VERY cold white stuff under my paws, the fact that my beard and mop-a-top will be constantly wet whilst outside and to avoid the yellow snow at all costs (and also the brown frozen leaf-looking things, suspicious…). So today I was prepared for what was coming, Mum briefed me last night and I knew that I would need a good nights sleep to build up enough sausage stamina to take on the snow.

I think I did a pretty good job…

Dog Snowballs

As you can probably tell, a dachshund is not quite built for deep snow, it was nearly up to my chin!! So the only way to move around outside when the weather is like this is to leap gracefully through the snow like a gazelle…

Ok, maybe not as graceful as a gazelle but I still look pretty darn athletic! Mum wouldn’t let me go through to the lounge with all those snowballs stuck to my legs (mum likes to call me the abominable sausage man) so Mum and Dad had to tease them out whilst drying me roughly thoroughly with a towel. Mum said this was not helping or constructive when I did this..

I personally think this is the only way to perk up such a tedious chore, who needs a towel to dry off when you can do it yourself on the sofa and carpet?

I hope you all enjoyed the snow – please send me your snowy photos to sausagetails@live.co.uk so I can share the fun with everyone!

Dach’s all for now – I’m off to flake out…
