Well Christmas came and went pretty quickly so it’s time I share with you my festive activities! Mum helped me wrap all the presents on Christmas Eve, sometimes I’m not able to hold the wrapping paper quite straight with my stumpy legs so Mum helps out but I think I did a pretty good job.
Then it was time to put all the presents under the tree ready for our guests, check out the appropriate wrapping paper…
Then after a restless night’s sleep because I was keeping one eye open for Santa Paws, Christmas was FINALLY here! I helped cook a superb turkey lunch and of course I taste tested all aspects of the food, including all the turkey, just to make sure that it tasted ok. I even had my very own apron so I didn’t get crumbs on my special Christmas bandana…
Harvey and I pulled a cracker, he likes to think he won the main part of the cracker and the prize however we all know that I’m the ‘buffer’ of the two of us, cos I work out.
Then it was time for lunch, even if I had ‘tested’ the food, The H’s and I still thought we’d try the old puppy dog eye’s on everyone to see if we could get a small morsel. We were hoping that everyone would be feeling generous as it was Christmas after all…
After watching everyone eat and willing the turkey remains to fall off the kitchen side, it was tine for presents!!!!! I was a good boy and gave my gifts out first, I made this personalised desk calendar for my Dad, just so he can see my cute furry face all day every day whilst he’s at work, I wouldn’t want him to forget me would I?
Then it was down to some serious unwrapping…
That wrapping paper gets everywhere!
I got some fab gifts including lots of treats…
A Christmas meerkat toy from my buddy Archie, perfect to have an afternoon snooze with…
A new Hear Doggy toy from Nanny as my old one had a few limbs missing, I have no idea how it happened, they just sort of ‘fell off’…
And a new loofer toy (my favourite!) from my Lovely Lottie and also some yummy looking cigars, you know what they say about having a cigar in bed…
Mum & Dad also treated me to some lovely gifts, a tweed collar and lead set from Love My Dog, what a posh dog I will look!
And a new snuggly bed for these cold winter nights, Mum calls it my fluffy cave however Dad and I like to call it The Sausage Cave, makes it sound more manly.
Even Harvey got a cool new toy which was big enough for the three of us to kill play with…
Then it was time to try the puppy dog eyes for left-overs later on but they still kept refusing…
But after all the excitement of turkey, unwrapping and playing, it was finally time to watch Eastenders and snuggle with my Nanny, the perfect end to a fun Christmas…
Dachs all for now – I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

Sweetheart who told you you have “stumpy legs” – OK not the longest, but they are very sturdy like a little footballer. Glad you had a wonderful Christmas Day and wishing you an exciting 2014.

I just want to say you, and your family are great! Reading Sausage Tails makes me so happy! I have anxiety, and so reading all these cute blogs really stops my worrying, and makes me laugh so much! I have a smooth coated dapple doxie named Jack Jack. He’s turning 4 on January 7th. He’s the best pup a girl could ask for. Happy New Year to Jeffrey, and all of your family and fur friends! May it bring you all happiness and great health!
