Alans First Bath

Today Mum decided it was about time Alan had his first bath, she said we smelt a bit ‘doggy’, whatever that means. I told him it would be ok and over as quick as you can say Bonio (we better get one afterwards) I’ve had quite a few baths since my arrival, that’s the compromise when you’re a hound that likes to roll in poo,  HERE is when I endured my first bath.

I went first, you know, to test the water…

He wanted a reassuring cuddle, I was happy to oblige as he acts as a sort of shammy-leather!

Mum warmed some fluffy towels on the radiator, only the best for her sausages however I think the lack of a sauna room is written all over my face.

I thought Alan had something to say, maybe review his experience..

But it seemed he just wanted to lick his chops, check Mum had cleaned his whiskers properly I expect.

Alan liked the way I smelt, Mum used a cookie dough fragranced fur conditioner, a celebrity sausage has got to look his best after all.

But I had to warn him that it was the conditioner that smelt tasty and that my hair was not in fact cookie dough. I wish…

Towel Dachshund

I taught Alan the most effective way to dry yourself is to rub your body all over the towels and keep shaking. Mum said that I look like a hippo when they flick their tail, I think she’s a bit rude. If you watch the video below you’ll agree I look more like a slinky otter…

It seemed I got the rough end of the deal, not only had I been soaked, lathered and then towelled dried, I then had to be blow dried!! Alan got away with it as he doesn’t have much hair (he’s a boring smooth) and Mum says that if I dry eu natural then I just can’t do a thing with my frizzy hair.

Alan did very well on his first bath, he was very brave. But I think you’ll agree, after all that hard work, we scrub up pretty well! I look positively dapper, non-frizzy and smart and Alan shines like a newly polished car.

Dach’s all for now – off to claim that Bonio!
