This weekend not only did we find one new woodland walk local to us, we found two! We had heard that a lady that had lived in some local woods, in a remote cottage, had built some Buddhist monuments. So we gathered the family and set off in the Autumnal sunshine in search of them…
Taking in the beautiful countryside views on our way…
I’m not gunna lie, 5 minutes after this photo was taken, Alan & I broke into to a field full of pheasants and went on a bit of a rampage. What can I say, our ‘hund’ instincts took over, Mum said this was certainly not a valid excuse – bad sausages!!
Please note – no pheasants were harmed in the making of this blog post.
Was this the route to take us deep into the dark woods to find the monuments?
Of course it was! My hound nose has never let me down before…
Even Alan wanted to get involved & see what all the fuss was about…
This was definitely somewhere to sit & reflect on life. The lady that built these must have carried all the cement & stone up this steep woodland hill just for locals to enjoy, what a nice lady!
After our long walk yesterday, we needed to refuel so Dad made us pancakes for breakfast this morning…
We then set off with our pals Harvey & Rodney in tow to another woodland area just up the road from us!
We took in the views of the lovely town we live in, we are so lucky to live in such a nice part of the country!
Soon we delved back into the woods to follow all the amazing smell trails & on the hunt for squirrels! Running up banks and in between the trees in search of critters…
Classic dog-on-a-log shot…
And Rodney & I even found ourselves a new hut! Well Nanny does say Rodney reminds her of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, and his house looks just like this!
Dach’s all for now – off to rest my paws & dream of squirrels…
