Yesterday we started our Bank Holiday weekend off with a lovely walk along the river with our local sausage dog friends. We had a good run along the towpath, cooled down with a dip in the river & then boosted our energy levels with a coffee at the cafe!
Along the way Lenny & I were positive we could smell something mighty good, hounds always walk with our noses to the ground…
As soon as we got to the beach area we all headed in for a cooling dip in the river…
And it wasn’t just us sausages partaking in the water sports, Simon the Jack Russell, along with our Harvey, are honorary members of the sausage group, they also had a paddle!
Here’s little Inky who I think might be the oldest member of our group as she’s approaching 9 years old, I don’t think she was as keen to get her paws wet as the rest of us. She’s the reason Mum wanted a smooth haired dachshund when she first saw her as a pup all those years ago, little did she know we’d end up with Alan…
Rodney of course was straight in the river, what a sight he was afterwards!
Soon we were off again, along the towpath heading for the lock…
Wait for me!
I’m not sure if the speed limit applies to us? Well Alan is pretty rapid!
Check out this handsome chap, this is Foxy who is in fact our Rodney’s Dad, I think you can probably see he gets his good looks from his Father!
We finally made it back to the park after completing our circuit, we had a rest by some beautiful wild flowers, the perfect opportunity for some photos with friends…
The Norwegians! Here’s Rodney & his Dad, who are from a Norwegian line of breeding and Foxy’s new pack-sister, Opal! What a picture-perfect trio!
And the obligatory group shot!
Alan was heading off to roll in something stinky, as per usual, so our Dad managed to grab him just in time, like butter wouldn’t melt…
We topped off a lovely walk & catch up with friends with a cooling coffee, the perfect Saturday morning!
Dach’s all for now!
