Yesterday we celebrated my baby brother Alan turning 1 year old! I cannot believe he is a year old already!
We celebrated in true dachshund style by meeting some friends and a few of Alan’s family for a nice Spring walk at Frensham Little Ponds followed by a pub lunch – my favourite kind of lunch!
Once we had collected Nanny & Rodney and set off, we were soon at Frensham and feeling a little deaf after listening to Alan & Rodney whining and barking in synchronised excitement, lucky us. We met our friends and headed off to the pond for our long walk…
As soon as we reached the pond the real water babies hit the pond for a cool dip. I on the other hand stayed on the beach to take a head count and made sure we had everyone and acted like the Hoff with my lifeguard skills, you know, just in case…
Alan’s brother Frank, a handsome chap!
Alan’s Mum & Dad Twiggy & Frank, you can see where Alan gets his good looks from!
Rodney thought by dragging Nanny into the Pond it would make her turn into a mermaid, I’m not sure he was right…
Alan’s girlfriend Edie getting a bit too friendly with some other dudes…
The puppy line up! Three of Alan’s litter mates were able to make it, from left to right: Portia, Plum, Frank & Alan – of course!
After they had finishing getting wet (silly sausages) and inhaling half the pond (I’m looking at you Rodney) we set off again so they could dry off in the wind!
Alan being chased by Edie, I reckon there was a bit of kiss chase going on!
Indie & Poppy were having a lovely time!
Otto looked like he’d found the scent of something good on the trail…
Come on Fonz!
Taking in the view with the birthday boy…
Alan’s little sister Plum, born the day after the rest of the litter, was the most stylish pup on the walk…
And she knew it, gorgeous girl!
Geoffrey & Lottie soon spotted another inlet of water to jump in!
No that’s not Alan, it’s his sister Portia!
And the obligatory group shot, what a turn out! From left to right, dogs names:
Lottie, Rodney, Fonz, Dudley, Archie, Frank Junior, Frank, Twiggy, Portia, Plum, Edie, Alan, Me, Otto, Geoffrey, Millicent, Dudley, Poppy, Indie, Amber, Maisie, Charlie
After our refreshing walk it was soon my favourite part of the day, lunch!
Even Rodders could smell the roast dinner in the air!
It gave me a chance to catch up with my Lovely Lottie as it was her birthday last Thursday, I was able to give her my gift that I had specially chosen and gift wrapped myself for her!
What a good looking couple we are!
And talking of cute couples, here’s Alan with his girlfriend Edie, he’s such a charmer!
Alan also caught up with his Mum Twiggy & sister Portia, like 3 peas in a pod!
All through lunch there had been a rumour doing the rounds that Edie and her Mum Georgia had made a special birthday cake for Alan & Lottie, I was hoping it was true, if there’s nothing I like more than a pub lunch then it’s cake!
Bingo! What an amazing creation! We just couldn’t resist a cheeky sniff…
I reckon Alan even got a cheeky lick!
Edie said that as she had made it, she better be the Chief Taster, which is normally my job but she’s so cute I was willing to let it go.
The grass never tasted so good after we had munched our cake, we thought it best to lick up all the evidence…
But all this walking, socialising and cake eating is pretty exhausting for a sausage…
Alan wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to all those that came yesterday, we were all really overwhelmed with your generosity of gifts and love for this little dude!
Happy Birthday little man!
Dach’s all for now!
