Yesterday we made the trip to meet our Sausage Army pals over at Frensham Little Pond for a stroll, dip in the lake (for those brave enough) and of course, a pub lunch!
After some hellos & hugs (the humans) butt sniffing & ball thieving (us sausages), it was time to head off up the hill to take in the view of the ‘pond’ in all it’s crisp Autumnal glory.
However the hike seemed a tad exhausting for my Lovely Lottie, it’s ok, I gave her the lick of life…
Nanny had promised Rodney a treat if he dragged her to the top, he looked hopeful…
And breath! It was a chilly day to be hiking with our short legs but the view was worth it!
It wasn’t long before Lovely Lottie got her energy back and decided there were some critters that needed digging up!
We carried on our walk, snaking like a string of sausages around the moors until we were back at the lake on the beach with sand between our paws…
Those brave enough took an extremely refreshing dip in the water…
Whereas some of us just dipped a toe in to test the waters, maybe not…
Good ‘ol Geoffrey & Millicent – always ones to get straight in the water like a pair of otters!
Leader of the pack, Fonz, was on patrol, making sure the young ‘uns weren’t causing too much trouble whilst he was collecting stray balls – that guy can multi-task!
Lovely Lottie was getting herself in such a mess chasing her ball on the beach. She was having fun and I’d still fancy her anyway – mud, sand, sogginess and all!
On our way back to the car we took in one last view if the beautiful scenery before dashing back, drying off & setting off for the pub!
We made reservations at our favourite Fensham pub, The Holly Bush, where they seem to know exactly who we are…
Alan tucked straight into the treats..
Whilst I perused the menu for something yummy for lunch… the beef burger sounded perfect…
Even the big guy was allowed up on the table, he didn’t knock over any glasses or steal any food or anything!
My Lovely Lottie was just taking it all in…
Whilst the other big chap of the group, Geoffrey,y chaired our sausage lunch meeting…
Of course I had a little catch up over something yummy with my Lottie, she was whispering sweet nothings into my ear, it’s a good job Nanny had pulled out all that hair last weekend so I could hear her!!!
And just check out this AMAZING cake Lottie & her lovely Mum made us! Talk about posh afternoon tea for us pooches!
It was extremely delicious, I just couldn’t take my eyes of this piece!!
What a lovely day we had, I snoozed all the way home, dreaming of my lovely Lottie & that heavenly cake..
Dach’s all for now – hope you had a nice weekend too!
