Nanny returned from her trip to the garden centre this week with a ‘date’ for me. A very pretty lady who had flowers in her hair, I think she likes to make a special effort for the boys.

I was intrigued by the new addition, she looked just like me – brown and slightly wirey just without the beard but she is a lady after all.

I tried a few of my bark-up lines on her, you know the usual, ‘Lady, you are one hotdog!’ ‘Meeting you has given me a new leash on life’ and normally a winner ‘ Knick-knack, Paddy-wack, you just gave this dog a bone’.

But it didn’t seem to be working, so after weighing up my options, I decided to go straight in for the kill and give her a keen lick…

I think she liked it as she agreed to stay and decorate Mum’s garden, what can I say? I just have the luck with ladies.
