When I received another box from Pure Pet Food in the post I knew after my first review of their dehydrated food, whatever was in this box was going to be good! If you missed my first review you can catch up HERE
It smelt as good, if not better, than the first box that I received from Pure a couple of months ago, I knew it was going to be something delicious!
Once I’d cracked into the box and peeled the sticky tape from my paws (I may need a paw-hair trimmage but this was not the most effective way of waxing them) it was time for me to put my reviewers cap on, take in the first impressions of the packaging and have a little restraint from tearing into the box.
I had to hold Alan back though, he was far too keen!!
My first impression was of a nice colourful box, not too garish, a food product that is natural just wouldn’t suit anything too bold. It carries the Pure pet food logo and the Human Grade Food stamp, something I like to see straight away when looking at healthy, nutritious treats.
They smelt amazing so it was only a matter of time before I ripped in, a sausage can only restrain himself from yummy goodies for so long…
So I just gave the box a little lick for the time being…
The Meaty Sweeties were Duck & Apple flavour, I love duck so I knew I was on to a winner with these! It clearly states on the front of the box that these treats are for dogs of all sizes and breeds so we knew they’d be ok for Alan too.
The Meaty Sweeties are described by Pure as:
Meaty Sweeties are a healthy low calorie treat which can be fed complimentary to a balanced diet
Which is perfect for me as I am on a bit of a health kick (diet to be frank) as Mum said I was beginning to look a bit tubster. Rude.
Made with nothing but fresh human grade ingredients with a consistency not too tough but too crumbly. Just feed one and you will have a friend for life!
This would be a difficult one to test as I love my Mum already however I wasn’t going to tell her this, I just wanted to crack on and give these amazingly smelling treats the official taste test.
Once I had cracked into the box, I found the treats were in a vacuum packed bag to keep them sealed and fresh.
I let Mum tear the packet open (FYI-which is resealable for freshness) as my badger digging paws weren’t quite flexible enough for this. We had a quick look, a brief sniff and let the tasting commence!
Once that packet was open our whole kitchen filled with the meaty aroma of duck, even the cat wanted a piece of the action!
As chief taster I went first!
And then I let Alan have one, lucky pup!
They tasted soooo good! So yummy that Alan was wearing half of his on his nose!
Mum said if I was to try another I had to do something for my treat, so I gave her my cutest puppy dog eyes and a fluffy paw…
They taste really good!
I would recommend these biscuits to anyone who likes to treat their pooch or if their dog is following a natural diet. The Meaty Sweeties come in Duck & Apple and also Chicken & Coconut (which also sounds awesome!) You can get yours HERE for £6.49
Dach’s all for now – off to break into the treat cupboard using Dad’s ladder…
