Pure Pet Food – Fish Supper

Pure Pet Food recently contacted me to ask if I would like to sample their new Fish Supper, this sounded right up our street as Alan & I do enjoy a fish & chip dinner! So much so that Saturday evenings have become known as ‘Sardine Saturdays’ in our home as we tend to split a tin between us, minus the chips of course…

Fish is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and nutrients for us dogs and you know how Alan & I like to keep trim, ok maybe more Alan than myself, but it still tastes good!

Alan was literally laughing with delight at the box we received! Not only the new Fish Supper but some delicious Meaty Sweeties too!

Pure Pet Food

If you haven’t already heard about Pure Pet Food then where have you been?!?!?! Pure is a dehydrated pet food, brilliant for those with fussy eaters, raw feeders who forget to defrost their food or go on holiday and need an easier method or just for those who like to feed their dog a healthy diet!

Pure explain their dehydration method as:

Pure is made with nothing but fresh and raw ingredients made in our very own human grade food facility in the UK, prepared with a gentle method called dehydration. Retaining our recipes nutrients without the need for harsh cooking procedures.

Our dehydrated meats are lightly heated at around 90c, just enough to remove any harmful pathogens whilst preserving the nutrients without the need for harsh cooking processes.

They are then carefully dehydrated to remove the moisture, leaving the meat you find in Pure packed with almost 300% more protein than you would find in fresh meat.

Our freeze dried meaty chunks are simply frozen straight from raw.

All you have to do is measure the right amount of food for your dog into a bowl, add some water to rehydrate it, leave for 10 to 15 minutes and then serve to your dog – simple! Can you believe that one 2kg box = 8kg of fresh food, amazing!

This new Fish Supper recipe contains freeze dried fish chunks as well eggs, spinach, carrots, sweet potato, parsnips, coconut & minerals.

The back of the box gives you clear instructions on how much to feed your dog by their weight and how much water to add. Inside the box there is also a handy scoop to help with measuring the food and water and also a clip so that you can re-seal the bag, they’ve thought of everything at Pure!

The Meaty Sweeties that we were sent were rather yummy too! They are a healthy low calorie treat which can be fed complimentary as part of a balanced diet – Pure described them as ‘Just feed one and you will have a best friend for life!’ Oh yes you will!

After examining all our goodies and reading up, we decided the best way to try it out was to eat it for ourselves, or it wouldn’t be a true review now would it? The things I do in the name of dog blogging…

Added water, let it rehydrate – however the waiting 10-15 minutes seemed like a lifetime as it smelt so good! But it’s worth waiting for…
