I like to think of myself as a romantic individual, a true gentleman some might say, so I decided it was only fitting to send my Lovely Lottie a Valentines Day gift. I thought long and hard about what would be perfect to send her, roses she could smell but they would eventually wither, Bonios she would just scoff down but a replica of my heart that doubles as a squeaky toy seemed the perfect choice.

I had to wait a couple of days in anticipation as to whether Lovely Lottie would like my romantic gesture. Would she scoff at it and say she’s too old for toys? Rip it apart in one quick manoeuvre that us dachshunds have perfected so well? Or simply carry it around with her with a loving look…
