Over here in the Sausage Tails house we’ve been getting ready for Christmas! It’s Alan’s first Christmas so I told him he had to dress the part as Santa’s little helper, I think he did well…
He started by helping Dad put up the tree and I told him that this wasn’t a tree to cock his leg up, just because he’s becoming a big boy doesn’t mean he can do it up every tree.
I then showed him where all the hundreds of tree decorations were kept, Mum said Alan could unpack them whilst I supervised…
He was told not to chew them but what can I do, watch him 24/7?
Alan seemed quite surprised at the amount of sausage dog Christmas decorations we had, I told him this was only the start of it…
He found some baubles that we could have a little game of football with however when Alan got a bit carried away and started crunching them up, Mum told us off and we had to get back to the job in hand paw.
As it was Alan’s first time putting the tree up, I was a nice big brother and let him put the star on the top, well he’s learning from the best…
Ta dah! I think we did a fine job considering we had a 7 month old pup ‘helping’ us and by helping I mean chewing on the tree, rummaging in the boxes and crunching up the baubles.
We put up the garland however we needed Dad to help do this as it was a bit high for our stumpy sausage legs.
We found a dachshund Christmas cushion in one of the boxes which we decided would make a cosy addition to our bed…
You may remember from my first Christmas that Nanny bought me a First Christmas personalised plaque. I’ve treasured it ever since and proudly hang it on the tree. Well this year, our lovely Nanny got Alan his very own one to hang on the tree, he felt like such a special sausage!
And last but not least, we hung the wreath but Alan thought it would be fun if I wore it, well I like to keep him amused…
Dach’s all for now – get festive!
