With just over a week to go until Christmas, I’m rather enjoying the build up to the big day this year as I understand it a bit more compared to my first Christmas last year.
Today we decided to put up our Christmas tree and decorations, I must say, it got us all in the festive mood! However there were so many boxes, I decided to play a little hide and seek to kick off the festivities…
However Dad told me to stop messing around and get down to the serious business of unpacking the tree, of course I was willing to help.
Unfortunately I’ve got short legs so I was unable to actually construct the tree but I did supervise Dad and told him where it needed more ‘fluffing’.
Soon it was time to help Mum unpack all the pretty things, like tree decorations and the door wreath.
It’s amazing what you find when you look through boxes that you haven’t seen for a year! A dachshund Christmas cushion for me to rest my head on whilst I watch Santa Claus the Movie…
The light-up Jeffrey that Dad made last year, always a popular decoration…
And just one or two sausage dog tree ornaments..
Again I was unable to actually hang the tree decorations. Mum said something to do with Elf & Safety, so I watched over her, making sure they were all hung in just the right places for me to see…
I’ve even had a new decoration handmade by my Auntie Yvonne which arrived in the post this week, it’s now one of Mum and my favourite’s! Check out Sylvester in the background not helping…
Finally the tree was finished and I was able to appreciate it in its full glory, wearing my festive Santa hat, of course…
But Mum also found a Christmas ribbon which she thought would make a nice hair bow and call me Jeffriette, don’t ask………
Then it was time to light the Christmas candles…
And have some mulled wine…
Christmas is finally here!
Dach’s all for now – Merry Christmas, hic…
