On Friday we celebrated the Birthday of a very special pal of mine, not just any old Birthday, a 10th Birthday! It was my best bearded-pal Harvey’s Birthday! Can you believe he’s 10 years old already? I’ve grown up with Harvey, he showed me the ropes and pretty much helped to raise me!

So I thought it only fitting that I should dust off my favourite Lilys Kitchen recipe book and bake him a very tasty Birthday cake to celebrate!

I had all the ingredients so just refreshed my furry brain on the exact method…

Pretty much throw it all in & give it a good stir! However Mum did have to help me as my little stumpy legs weren’t quite long enough for the wooden spoon #shortlegtroubles

I also had to give it a pre-taste test before it went in the oven, obviously…

Soon it was tea-time, so we donned our party hats & I produced my made-with-tender-loving-care-and-a-bit-of-drool cake to Harvey to see what he thought, I think Rodney could smell it a mile off…

He seemed keen to tuck in & get his beard sticky!

Obviously I gave it a quick lick, just to check the icing was set & ok for Harvey to devour, the things I do for my friends…

The cake went down a storm & we enjoyed a lovely Birthday tea party! Just a shame Mum wouldn’t make me a cuppa to wash the cake down with!!

Happy Birthday Harvey you handsome old dude!
