Fridays Furry Friend

Hi y’all! (that will make sense in a mo, I promise you!) Well what a week it’s been – it seems the UK is thrashing out the last of Summer as a heatwave seems to have descended on us! Not that I’m complaining, you know me, always wanting to top up my tanned bits! We started the week off by treating you all to another dose of Socky Sausage – Part 7 to be precise, however I’m not sure it’s entirely sock-appropriate weather at the moment?! But if you do fancy stocking up for Autumn/Winter, then catch up HERE

This weeks Furry Friend is a wiener from across the pond, Dallas to be precise! Ollie has been nominated by his new fur-mum Anne who saw Ollie at a rescue stand at the wiener races in April. It seems he now has a lovely home with Anne after a bit of a rough start and is looking very good on it! Now back to those wiener races, where can I enter Alan?

Hi, Jeffrey and Alan! (or as we say in Texas, Hi, y’all!)
Can I be your Friday’s Furry Friend someday?  My name is Ollie and I live in Dallas, Texas on the other side of the pond.  My mama keeps up with your blog and Facebook antics which keep her entertained and smiling when work gets a bit overwhelming.  She lost her 13 1/2-year-old wiener, Gunther, this year and was so sad.  She wasn’t going to search for another wiener until she went to the Buda, Texas wiener races in April.  She laid eyes on me in the All Texas Dachshund Rescue booth and put in an adoption application on the spot.  I was found on an east Texas dirt road with a chain around my neck, almost starved to death, but now I am happy and healthy and having fun in my new home with my two fur sisters and those pesky kitties.  As they say, blondes do have more fun!!

Dach’s all for now – enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend if you’re in the UK!

Thank you Jeffrey for choosing Ollie as your FFF. How could anyone have mistreated such a gorgeous dog. Mum and I are so glad that Anne was able to adopt Ollie and that his story has a happy ending. He deserves it. Interesting that American cats are as annoying as British ones!
Hope you all have a great weekend. Take care.
    Regards,
    Finn
