Chip (olatta) Chop

When this particular Christmas present arrived in the post for Mum I got quite a shock as first a nose and then a familiar shaped body emerged from the packaging. Auntie Yvonne has sent me a friend I thought excitedly – then the horrible realisation set in that the poor creature seemed to have croaked whilst in transit and rigour mortis had set in.

Was the box taped up too tightly? Had he frozen to death in the sorting office or was the suffocating bubble wrap to be blamed for his demise?

But relief was at hand as Mum explained that this new addition to the ‘all things Dachshund’ collection was in fact a wooden chopping board, silly sausage!

Now it seems this handsome yet rather stiff fellow can be used for all sorts of culinary tasks. Chopping and preparing food – obviously not mixing cooked with uncooked meats etc (I have been watching those horrendous programmes on TV about shonky restaurants and take away establishments).

But I don’t think Mum will be carving away and lacerating the poor chap – that would ruin his good looks, perhaps a cheese board or antipasti? Hmmmm, I like cheese……

Can I smell cheese?

Anyway we love the little wooden man, our one was bought for us from Achica.com however it is no longer available there so you will need to keep you eyes peeled if you fancy one!

Dach’s all for now, it’s off to bed, chip chop!
